Memory-Map: Installation
Please use the Mobile Crossing DVD or direct download for the initial
installation and registration. We would like to access interest
in this product so it is essential to use our version. After
registration you can use upgrades directly from the memory-map
site if we don’t have the latest one available yet.
Email Support@mobilecrossing.com
if you have problems with the installation.
- Place our DVD in your DVD compatible
player. After a few seconds the file explorer should display
the contents of the DVD. If not, then use the My Computer
entry to select your player.
- There will be 4 folders on the DVD, 3
are for maps and the one called Setup contains the installation.
Double tap the Setup folder and then launch the Setup program.
Follow the onscreen instructions to install the product
to your pc. If you downloaded the application you will also
need to download some maps to view.
- Start Memory-Map and use the menu maps
and select maplist to choose a map to view. Use the Refresh
Map List button to add the search path for the DVD or path
to the map images and then select an available map. Tapping
OK will view the map.
- If you have the Memory-map navigator
application preloaded in your WayPoint PDA you can simply
send the viewed map or the visible portion of the map to
your sync’d PDA from the PDA menu. If you do not have
a preloaded application then you can use the PDA menu to
send the application.
- You can try the application and if you
wish to buy it you can use the Help menu to select the online
registration key. When you say ok the registration will
also be sent to the PDA if it is sync’d. If it is
not currently hooked to the pc you can view the registration
page later and tapping ok will send the key to the PDA. Note that the application may offer to download the application to the PDA. If you are using the ROM version on your WayPoint do not let it perform the download.
- For GPS use on the WayPoint select NMEA mode and 4800 baud. Use COM 8 for the WayPoint 200 and COM 3 on the WayPoint 100.
The Registration key is needed for printing
and GPS support. Otherwise you can try out all of the features
of the product without registering it. If you want to try
out GPS you can request a temporary registration key from
Memory-Map. See Help and the about screen to link to Memory-Map
for more details. To learn the product you can use the built
in help on the pc or WayPoint unit. There is also a link from the
pc to the manual.
