Learn why Mobile Crossing's Bluetooth GPS is Better.
- Better
Accuracy
Our
Bluetooth GPS was built to our exacting requirements and
includes the very latest firmware available. One key feature
that differentiates our Bluetooth GPS from the others
is increased accuracy for altitude. We employ the new
geoid correction to the altitude calculation which produces
results that are closer to reality. Further, improvements
in software has resulted in accuracy performance improvements
with differential GPS enabled, now down to 5 meters 95%
of the time. Even with WAAS turned off, our Bluetooth
GPS pinpoints your position to 15 meters 95% of the time,
and within 10 meters 90% of the time.
- Long
Battery Performance
Our
Bluetooth GPS is not the biggest, nor the smallest Bluetooth
GPS on the market. What you will find is that the battery
life is among the best available, giving you at least
8 hours of battery life. Our customers have found the Lithium-Ion
battery to run for a little longer than this, your mileage
may vary.
- Excellent
Shielding
All
Bluetooth GPS devices are radio receivers in addition
to being transmitters and must be designed to work well
in noisy environments such as cars and planes. Both GPS
and Bluetooth antennas are susceptible to interference
from any number of high-tech items in close proximity
such as PDAs and cell phones. The Mobile Crossing Bluetooth
GPS is fitted with precisely placed metallic shielding
to deliver crystal clear high performance results.
- The
Lights
Our
Bluetooth GPS has the much coveted Blue LED. Yes, it blinks.
- Up
to 12 Simultaneous Satellites
This
Bluetooth GPS can lock onto 12 satellites simultaneously.
With WAAS enabled, it will track up to 10 satellites plus
the two WAAS satellites if they are in view. While there
are more than 12 GPS satellites, usually half of them
are busy providing service to our friends on the other
side of the planet.
- Compatible
with NMEA
Our
Bluetooth GPS is designed to be strictly compliant to
Bluetooth 1.1 and NMEA standards. Any device that supports
the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) will be able to
hook up. Some devices will require additional software
-- just make sure the software is NMEA compatible. We
haven't tried our Bluetooth GPS with every device known
to man yet, but we would like to. So far, we've tested
and found this GPS to work with the following devices
available on the market:
HP Ipaq
Dell Axim with a CF Bluetooth Adapter
Sony Ericcson P900
Toshiba PDA with SD Bluetooth Card
Tapwave Zodiac 2
