WayPoint Map Downloads

Mobile Crossing is pleased to announce that new maps are available for download. These new maps will require new activation codes which may be purchased from our web site. The upgrade prices are the same as for the old maps except there is no free region. Mobile Crossing does not recommend a mix of old and new maps in WayPoint since it is possible that the roads on the boundaries of the two versions might not line up. Once you move to the new maps you should remove any old maps that you have.

The following downloads are only needed if you intend to build your own map card. They are not needed if you are planning to use the Map Loader to download the files for you using an ActiveSync connection. If you intend to build a Map Loader card you should read the Map Loader manual or the Map Loader chapter in the WayPoint manual. There are other choices for maps, including a preloaded CF card and CDROMs (only $5) that you can order from our Outlet store.

Please select the version of maps you wish to download.

Differences in the new version of the maps
:

Two new regions for the UK have been added. Many roads and poi’s have been added or updated. Alaska is now available. These changes have caused most regions to increase in size which requires some changes to the region definitions. These are shown below:

  • The full long haul maps may not fit in the flash disk area along with some regions. You should place the long hauls on an SD card if needed.
  • The Pacific Northwest region was changed – Montana and Wyoming were removed. A new partial area of Montana-Southwest was added. Alaska was added.
  • The North Central region was changed – Minnesota was removed. A new partial area of Minnesota-West and South was added. Montana and Wyoming were added.

Note that some of the larger inland lakes and bays are not depicted correctly in the new version of the maps. Users that need accurate depiction of these areas should use version 1.0 maps. We hope to correct this in the future.
